Wraped up!

So at Christmas and other gift giving holidays I wrap the gifts. Its more fun to watch the kids unwrap them and see the happiness on their faces. I like to keep the surprises hidden its more fun. But I know some people just make piles of gifts. It was suggested to me that i just set out the gifts under our tree, but I decided to wrap them, it took me three nights and yards of paper and 3 rolls of tape. I had way to many gifts for the kids, I filled three trash bags up with torn paper.

I felt it was a waist of time. It might be a good idea to just pile up the gifts and have them in stacks for each kid but their is something about them taring into a wrap gift. Growing up we always had wrapped gifts except for the huge ones like a bike or similar. They would have a bow and some ribbons. I Feel the need to torture myself each year and hide the gifts in colored paper that cost to much to be riped off.

In the New Years

Each year we make goals to try and achieve, this new year I know what I will have achieved. There is the goal of loosing weight, but this time It will be because I will have gotten the gastric by-pass, and yes I know whats involved, My mom had it done over 10 years ago. I start in January with my meetings at Ohio State Hospital. There will be lots of meetings and test and I'm ready for it all.

Next I will be moving into a new place, and starting over again. I cant wait for this.

I will also be finished with my AA BA in April some time.

I will also have three out of my four in school and not just day care, My John starts kindergarten in the fall, and the twins will be in second grade(good lord I feel old). Sense we are moving and I'm not sure where this will be exactly I will have to wait to see if Owen will be going to day care or pre school or be home with me.

I also have smaller goals for my family that I have been working on but hope to perfect them and they are to :

Help Penny with her copping skills and impulse control to lower the amount and severity of her fits. Help her with her OCD and try to get her off the ADHD meds. But if we still need meds to help her I wont see it as a failure but as a step to getting her off at a later date.

To teach Owen and Lil John that hugs are more fun then fighting and perfecting our bed time routine so its shorter and works the first time.

I also want to help John reach his goal of reading by the time he starts kindergarten in the fall, he can write say and tell you his ABC's. He can also spell his color words and his full name. He's doing very well in Pre-K.

I think these are all achievable goals as I already have the steps to complete them.

Im getting old , while trying to stay young

September 26 is my birthday and I'm gonna be 29. When I was a little girl I always thought time went to slow all I wanted to do was grow up so I can move on with my life. Now I feel like time went to fast , all I want it to do is slow it down. I was not much of a kid, I did not play much and my idea of fun was watching TV with my family. I was a home maker in training. At 5 I was cooking, in fact I was able to fry chicken and make dishes like spaghetti. This is one of the reasons I love to cook. I Use to take care of my little sister as well. I was like an old soul in a child's body. Now a year away form being 30 I been thinking about how how much I want to be a child again. Kids don't have bills or jobs. The only care they have is whats Santa's gonna bring you , and birthday candle wishes, and pony rides. Long summers, pool time and slumber parties.

Now that I have kids of my own I see their lives pass by so fast. When they were babies I could not wait for them to crawl and walk and talk , Now that they do, I'm always saying sit down and shut up. Hahaha well that's what everyone says. I wish I could turn back the time so I could smell their baby sent again, see the first smiles and the faces they made when I gave them lemons and jello for the first times. Those are the moments you treasure. They are going to be teenagers and young adults before I know it. I have to stop and remember to enjoy the moments and let them be kids. My kids cant cook like I did at the same age, and they have no interest in helping to take care of the younger kids. But they are good kids and they have lots of fun. they are nothing like me but in the same way just like me. Now I can pretend to be young again.

Kid Friendly Valentines Day Crafts

I wanted to do a craft with my kids to help with the winter blues. And Valentines Day Is just around the corner. I have a bunch of craft supplies from my scrap booking days (back when I had time). I was just trying to come up with a kid friendly idea where there was not much parent involvement other then guidance. What I came up with was a centerpiece for the table. You and you honey can have a wonderful dinner with a lovely center piece made by your kids....

Supplies:

Craft Glue

Paper of different colors (I used scrap booking paper)
Wooden meat sticks (look like long tooth picks)

Misc stickers (heart shapes but any kind of Valentines day type would look cute)

Pre-cut hearts in random colors (scrap booking supplies I had on hand)

Styrofoam balls and a basket or cute base that the ball will sit in.

Step 1- have kids(help) trace there hands on the color paper that they choose. I made 4 cut outs for each child.

Step 2- have a parent cut out hands

Step 3- let kids glue hearts and place sticker on hands let them be creative.

Step 4- parents glue wooden sticks to wrists on hands. Let dry completely. (I occupied kids during this time by serving dinner)

Step 5- put a sticker over the end of the wood stick to cover it and make it look nice.

Step 6- kids can stick the wood sticks into the Styrofoam ball and help them place them so its balanced. and when your finished you will have a little hand garden full of love.

You can substitute for any supplies you have on hand. A cute ceramic pot would make a really nice base if you have one on hand.

I came up with this Idea after standing in front of all my supplies trying to come up with an Idea to occupy there time and allow me to finish cooking dinner. My kids due to cold weather and just being sick lately can not go outside, So I needed to be creative. My kids were able to put the the sticker on them selves and my sister in law helped with the glue. Bed time came fast after and the hands were not dried so we continued it the next day. It turned out very cute. The kids really loved making it and cant wait to do another project again.

Owen Keith Oliver

The new baby was born on February 17th at 7:53 am via c-section. The section went well and smooth. I stressed myself out the spinal even though It does not hurt. For some reason I just over reacted and made it bigger then what it was. So it went well and I even had a mirror to watch. I only watched the part when he came out there was no way I wanted to see me get diced. It was amazing. So Owen was 7 lbs 12 oz and 19 3/4 in long. A really neat thing is that his weight backwards is his birth date 2-17 date 7-12 size. Pretty cool huh.

Owen is very laid back, Hes only upset when you bother him and he settles down pretty fast. And he nurses like a champ, and he sleeps about 4 hours at a time. Hes a great little baby.

Field Trips

Field trips all ready. So the girls had a field trip on Friday. They walked as a class to a local park near by. They loved it. They behaved better then when I take them. Why is it that some kids act better around other kids and not with there own parents. But they did good. When it came time to pick them up from school they were so talkative about how much fun they had going to the park and playing with there new friends. I don't think they even know the kids names yet. But so far so good.

Now I just need to find things to do when I'm home. I don't always have to go to work right after. And John takes a nap with my mom so I have 3 hours at least of (me time) and I don't know what to do with my self. Sure I could do laundry or pack more stuff for our big move. But who wants to do work when you don't really have to. I could have taken a nap also but did not......I ended up playing computer games and taking an extra long hot shower.

I'm sure I will get around to doing what needs to get done, maybe next week.

So Its A Boy!

We are having a boy. We found out on Friday, Friday was also my birthday. I turned 26 on the 26Th. This will never happen again.

So I'm on my way to have four. Almost everyday someone says ' how are you gonna handle four kids '. I say the same way I did with two then three. Nothing changes but the ending number. You spoil them when they are good and punish when they are bad. And love them all he time.

So I have started early

I have started to wash all the crib sheets and small baby blankets. My girls get into them any way. Might as well get them all cleaned and packed into plastic tubs. So I'm not always trying to wash them. My girls for some reason have to pull everything off of the shelves. And out of the drawers. They are 3 now but don't listen to me about staying out of stuff that's not theirs.

I'm also gonna be going through all the kids clothes that Iv saved. but not for several months. I don't care what the sex of the baby is but I'm thinking there are 2 in there. I starting to think that they are 2 boys. I'm getting very excited about this.

I asked my girls do you want a boy or girl and Eve says girl, and Penny says boy and a girl. so I'm hopping I get to find out how many are in there at the first doc apt. July 16Th is so far away. It needs to come faster.

Another Addition

So if not to add to my daily drama. We just found out were expecting again. It was and unexpected surprise welcome. We wanted one more pregnancy just not this soon. But I'm a believer that things happen for a reason. My Husband and I are happy. We love children and are welcoming our new baby with open arms. We Do agree on one thing and that's we are hopping it is just one baby but if we get twins again I will be delighted.

Some in my family don't know yet and wont for a while. My mom is one of them. Although she will figure it out eventually cause she does know I'm late. But shes angry with us. Telling me I can find natural ways of aborting. Me and the Hubby agreed a long time ago that , that is not a solution for us. So I'm Angry at my mom for suggesting such thing. But I bet she gets over it once she sees a new baby. So we are in for a more busy life but an exciting wonderful time. I cant say that i cant Wait because I can, I'm gonna need all 9 months to prepare.

Mr Man. Is walking

So Mr. Man John is 13 mos old and has started walking. It took him about a week and now hes great at it. Hes started running and its really cute he gets mixed up in his steps and stumbles. Its very intertaning to watch him. I incuraged him to walk and in a few weeks Im probly gona be saying sit-down.

We as moms want our kids to hurry-up and walk so we can just tell them to sit down. Once they start walking its all down hill from there. Time will be flyin and soon im gona be seeing him in high school. Kids need to stay small for longer. But if that happend we would want them to grow up faster.
